Section A,
• Guides all MID candidates for Licensed Ministry through initial licensure process.
• Guides all MID candidates for Commissioned Ministry through commissioning process.
• Guides all MID Candidates for Ordained Ministry through ordination process
• With Section C, guides MID candidates for Alternative Path Ministry through ordination.
• Supervises full Ecclesiastical Endorsement Process for all MID Candidates.
• Manages Scholarship Fund.
• Provides training for Section A of the C&M Committee.
• Provides training for Local Church Discernment Committees and MID Advisors.
• Reviews the Call Agreements of candidates working with Section A.
• This Section is empowered to take provisional action on behalf of the Association with regard to these matters, subject to confirmation by the Committee of the Whole.

Section B,
• Conducts periodic reviews of all ordained ministers with standing in the Southern Association.
• Conducts periodic reviews of all commissioned ministers serving churches and/or organizations within the Southern Association.
• Conducts annual reviews of all dually commissioned and licensed Ministers serving churches and/or organizations within the Southern Association.
• Reviews and approve all ordained and commissioned ministers who are transferring standing from another Association of the United Church of Christ to the Southern Association.
• Is responsible for the discipline of ministers through Special or Disciplinary Review as stated in the Manual on Ministry.
• The process of any action or discipline may be appealed to an Ecclesiastical Council.
• Section B shall administer the “Minister’s Continuing Education Fund.”
• Reviews the Call Agreements of pastors transferring into the Association.
• This Section is empowered to take provisional action on behalf of the Association with regard to these matters, subject to confirmation by the Committee of the Whole.


Section C

Section C
• Conducts annual reviews for Licensed Ministers; renew licenses as appropriate with vote of Committee of the Whole.
• Guides Commissioned Ministers through transfers and leaves of absences.
• Annually reviews status of those granted Privilege of Call until a call is received.
• With Section A, guides MID candidates for Alternative Path Ministry through ordination.
• Guides ministers seeking Dual Standing, Partnership, Privilege of Call, or Transfer of Standing through these processes.
• Works with churches seeking membership in Southern Association.
• Reviews the Call Agreements of candidates working with Section C.
• This Section is empowered to take provisional action on behalf of the Association with regard to these matters, subject to confirmation by the Committee of the Whole.
